HOBIE PORTER. murwillumbah portrait photography.

photography can be seen as a passport or secret key – opening doors to places, experiences, people. often this key is used when I am asked to use it – at a wedding, an occassion – I`m invited. sometimes I get it out of my pocket and use it without invitation. I contacted someone I`d never really met, but had had some e-mail conversation with. someone in the middle of busy preparation for an upcoming exhibition. someone who made early grey tea with honey when I arrived. someone who was open and happy for me to come and photograph something quiet. something within. something we know is true. something i am at the start of and still experimenting with. without photography this shared experience would probably never have happened. I am grateful that it did. Hobie`s paintings are incredible. the process is inspiring. if you get the chance to get to see some of the work, go… for the website … hobie porter.
